Speak Freedom Conference comes to Samford University

21Wilberforce and the Baptist World Alliance are co-hosting SPEAK FREEDOM, a one-day conference to be held at Samford University on July 9, 2022. Samford is a leading Christian university offering undergraduate programs grounded in the liberal arts with an array of nationally recognized graduate and professional schools. Founded in 1841, The Wall Street Journal ranks Samford 1st nationally for student engagement. The leadership conference will focus on living with passion, leading with excellence and leading systemic change. Participants will convene, connect, and contribute to a shared agenda for developing leaders in the struggle for justice.

Conference leader Dr. Randel Everett, President of 21Wilberforce and author of the recently published book, Speak Freedom, Developing Emergent Leaders in the Struggle for Justice, is passionate about encouraging and equipping leaders. “Our world is facing the existential threats of racial injustice, political division and religious persecution. This conference is a call for competent courageous leaders to stand up for justice.”

Leaders for justice face significant opposition anytime systemic change is considered. Effective change makers seek out the vulnerable and take positive steps to advocate for change and prevent injustice. This type of leadership starts with what the Lord requires of us, fueled by the words of the ancient prophet, Micah: “to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (v6:8).

Speak Freedom Conference dynamic speakers include Dr. Timothy George, Dr. Warren Stewart, Sr., Laise Sindra Ribeiro, and Rev. Bontha Samuel Kumar.

Visit the Conference registration site to explore the program and to register. There will be ample time to engage with the speakers and other attendees. Participants will receive a copy of Dr. Everett’s book and a conference workbook.
