First established by the World Evangelical Alliance in 2001, the International Day of Prayer (IDOP), highlighted on the first Sunday in November, encourages collective prayer for the needs of the global persecuted church. Observed by Christian denominations worldwide, each year focuses on a theme.
The Texas Baptists Center for Cultural Engagement, in partnership with 21 Wilberforce, invites Texas Baptists and Christians nationwide to engage in a week of prayer for the persecuted church in Nigeria, Monday, October 27 – Sunday, November 2, 2025.
A bulletin insert/prayer guide provides specific prayer points for each day. Other resources available include two short videos and social media posts. ACCESS TEXAS BAPTISTS WEEK OF PRAYER RESOURCES HERE
We invite you to lead your congregation and those within your influence to participate in this meaningful week of prayer, disciple-making, and witness this November. Learn more about persecuted Christians in Nigeria here. If you or your church would like to do more to serve and help the persecuted church, contact 21Wilberforce here.
