The Jews were facing certain genocide under the reign of King Ahasuerus in Persia when his wife, Queen Esther who was herself a Jew, risked her life to save her people. She was challenged by her relative Mordecai,
“And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this.”(Esther 4:14)
